Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a sliding Al alloy with superior wear resistance by adding specified amounts of Sn, Si, Mn, Sb, etc. to Al.
CONSTITUTION: To Al is added ≤3wt% (except 0%) Sn, and 1W25wt% of 1 or ≥2 kinds of elements selected from Si, Mn, Sb, Ti, Zr, Ni, Fe, W, Cl, Nb, V, Mo, Ba, Ca an Co is further added so as to make the total amount of them ≥15% except Si. The added elements are dispersed and precipitated. The resulting Al-Sn alloy has increased wear resistance and high load capacity. The order of addition of said elements except Sn is Si; Mn and Sb; Zr, Mo, Fe and Co; Mb, W and V; and Ba and Ca.
