Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the charge voltages of insulators safely with high accuracy in a detector for defective insulators having rotary type drums moving on the insulators by making a voltage divider freely movable and fixable to and at measuring positions. CONSTITUTION:Rotary drums 3, 3' move on ajacent duplex strain insulators 1, 1' while rotating. A voltage divider 6 is mounted in the position between the insulators 1 and 1' below a shaft connecting part 4 in parallel with the insulators. A optical voltage sensor 7 is connected to the front end of the divider 6 and an expansion type insulation control rod 8 consisting of an electrical insulating material to the rear end. Contactors 12 contacting with the insulator set in the directon at a right angle thereto are mounted at both ends of the divider and contact with the measurement point P of the insulator fitting 2 of the insulator 1 thereby measuring charge voltages in terms of partial voltages. The output of the voltage divider is fed via an optical voltage sensor 7 to a measuring device by means of an optical cable or the like and therefore the charge voltages of the insulators are measured with high accuracy without receiving faults such as high voltages, electromagnetic induction, temp. changes and the like.
