Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect temperature accurately with detection of changes in the quantity of light with a detector after the passage thereof through an optical fiber using a detector, by a method wherein heat of a dielectric is transmitted to an element having a shape memory effect to send light to a photo detector from a light source through the optical fiber to vary the quantity of passing light with a displacement of a transformation temperature of the element in the course of transferring light. CONSTITUTION:A light source 1 and a photo detector 2 are arranged at a position insulated from an electrical charger 3 such as conductor of a bus duct and a specified potential is applied to the electrical charger 3. Light from a light source 1 is transferred to a detector 2 through first and second optical fibers 4 and 5. The fibers 4 and 5 are coupled through a space gap 6 and employ those insulating to receive light of the light source 1 through the fiber 4 and light is inputted into the detector 2 through the fiber 5.
