Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a detection control circuit and to prevent position shift at the time of copy paper removal, by providing a pyroelectric infrared ray sensor near an image side thermal fixing roller insert-carrying a transcription paper and making the temperature control and a wound said paper detection. CONSTITUTION:A thermal fixing roller pair 1 carries copy paper 2 through clipping and consists of a picture side roller 4 melting and fixing a toner 3 and a non-picture side roller 5, which is provided with a heater 6. Near the roller 4, a pyroelectric type infrared ray sensor 7 is provided and the change in heat from the roller 4 is detected. A temperature control circuit 8 amplifies the change in the output from the sensor 7, compares it with a reference value to make power application or input phase control. A temperature detection circuit 9 differentially amplifies the output of the sensor 7 to detect a failed carrying state of the copy paper 2. Thus, a weak sensor output fluctuation is caught as the temperature fluctuation to be controlled and a large fluctuation can be taken as wound copy paper, allowing to obtain a senseor without troubled by non-contactness and position shift using only one sensor.
