Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit the amount of fuel injection to be controlled correctly in a small flow-rate range by injecting a constant amount of fuel which is metered by a fixed orifice and the controlled amount of fuel controlled by an injection valve when the amount of fuel consumption is over a certain value. CONSTITUTION:An injection valve 14 correctly corresponds in the range in which the amount of fuel consumption is small, and the controlled amount of fuel is injected into an intake passage 6 in the range in which the feeding amount of the injection valve 14 is smaller than the max. feeding amount. When the amount of fuel consumption increases near to the max. feeding amount, the first opening and closing valve 18 is opened, and a constant amount of fuel metered by the first orifice 17 is injected from a nozzle 27, and the portion in shortage for the demand is supplied from the injection valve 14. When the amount of consumption increases further, the second and the third valves 21 and 24 are opened in succession, and the fuel metered through the orifice 17 and the orifices 17, 20, and 23 is injected from the nozzle 27, and the portion in shortage is supplied from the injection valve 14.
