Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the starting performance by feeding the gasline and the alcohol stored separately in a tank through same pump while controlling the alcohol supply ratio through a variable orifice in accordance to the oerational condition thereby employing single fuel system. CONSTITUTION:The gasoline G and the alcohol A are stored in a fuel tank 1 while separated up and down by the difference of the specific gravity. The fuel pipe 5 coupled to the suction pipe 2 for the gasoline G and the fuel pipe 6 coupled to the suction pipe 4 for the alcohol A are coupled respectively to the suction port of same fuel plump 7. A fixe orifice 14 is provided to the fuel pipe 5 while a variable orifice 15 is provided to the fuel pipe 6. The variable orifice 15 is provided with the control signal from a control unit 16 thus to control the supply ratio of the alcohol A against the gasoline G in accordance to the operational condition of the engine 17. In other word, at the starting the ratio is reduced under the light and intermediate load while it is increased under the heavy load thus to prevent the knocking.
