Abstract
PURPOSE: To make handling of sludge cake easy and to reduce the usage of a heating assistant by adding and including quicklime into dehydrated sludge cake, and drying the sludge cake by the heat of slaking reaction thereof then incinerating the sludge in an incineration stage.
CONSTITUTION: High moisture content waste is settled and separated with a concentrating device 1, and the concd. sludge 2 is discharged. This discharged sludge 2 is fed to a dehydrator 3 such as centrifugal separator, by which it is dehydrated and dehydrated cake 4 is formed. The separated dehydration liquid 5 is returned to a concentrator q1 from which it is discharged as treated water. The sludge cake 4 is transferred into an agitation mixing tank 6, and when quicklime is added and mixed to and with this, the quicklime generates high heat by acting with the water of the cake 4, thereby forming slaked lime. The moisture of the cake 4 is evaporated to steam by the reaction heat evolved at this slaking, and this steam is removed. The cake 4 is dried and dry fine powder 7 is formed.
