Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve both the appearance and the characteristic of a fluorescent lamp by coating the inner wall of the glass case with a film made of a high- melting-point metal oxide powder, coating the said film with a phosphor film, and forming these films so that their thicknesses gradually increase from the top to the bottom. CONSTITUTION:After a light-transmitting glass case 2 the inner wall of which is coated with a transparent conductive film 1 is placed with its one end located upside, a suspension liquid of a high-melting-point metal oxide powder is poured onto the film 1 in the direction indicated by an arrow (A), and is dried so as to form a high-melting-point oxide film 7. Following that, a phosphor suspension liquid is poured onto the film 7 in the direction indicated by an arrow (B) so as to form a phosphor film 8. Here, the films 7 and 8 are formed so that their thickness gradually increase from one end of the case 2 to the other end of the case 2. As a result, a generation of dot-like black spots can be extremely minimized, and the luminous flux can be improved.
