CONSTITUTION:A bulb 1 has a metal cap 3 at its neck 2 and a projection 4 which is protruding outward at the top. A phosphor coating 6 is applied to the spindle- shaped section of the bulb 1. In this case, the phosphor coating 6 of the spindle- shaped section of the bulb is formed so as to have its optical transmission factor of about 60% and the phosphor coating 7 of the projection 4 permits its optical transmission factor to be restricted within the ranges of 65-95%. This restriction can reduce the quantity of the necessary phosphor material and improve the color of the lamp more than the lamp to which no phosphor material is applied.
