Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply form a multinozzle head with reduced cost by a device wherein an ink jetting port is shaped into the form of a slit, thereby to facilitate positioning between the ink jetting port and air jetting ports. CONSTITUTION:An ink jetting port is shaped into the form of a slit. Meniscus 19 of ink occurring at the boundary surface between an ink slit 17 and an air layer 12 has the concave surface, because ink is pressed toward an ink chamber 7 due to higher air pressure at points B1, B2 than that at points A1, A2, A3. By properly adjusting the balance between ink pressure and air pressure, it is possible to generate undulations at intervals of air jetting ports 13 on the meniscus 19 of ink opposite to the ink slit 17. Even with an ink jetting port being in common, ink droplets can be independently jetted from the respective air jetting ports 13 and stopped, if the air jetting ports 13 and electrodes 14 are formed in the independent states.
