Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a heat-accumulating material having low super-cooling tendency, high stability to repeated heating and cooling, and excellent thermal absorption and emission performance, at low cost, by adding sodium pyrophosphate and its dissolution-suppressing agent to an aqueous solution of sodium acetate having a specific concentration.
CONSTITUTION: The objective heat-accumulating material is prepared by mixing (A)100pt.wt. of an aqueous solution containing ≥40wt% sodium acetate, with (B) 0.001W30pt. of sodium pyrophosphate (preferably sodium pyrophosphate decahydrate) and (C) 0.1W30pt. of an agent for suppressing the dissolution of the sodium pyrophosphate (preferably potassium pyrophosphate). If necessary, other additives such as nucleating agent, thickening agent e.g. carboxymethyl cellulose, an agent for regulating the solidifying and heat-emitting temperature, etc. is added to the above mixture.
