Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce work for control, inspection, etc. of quantity of liquid in a tank, by forming the strut of a pump to triangular shape with its suction port side as a vertex and preventing occurrence of turbulence in the vicinity of a suction port part then obtaining a lower level of liquid than in the past. CONSTITUTION:A strut 10, integrally formed with a casing 3, is formed to triangular shape with the side of a suction port 6 as a vertex. A generated swirl in the inside of said strut 10 is eliminated by this triangular shaped strut 10, and liquid smoothly flows into the suction port 6 of a pump as shown by arrow heads in the drawing, never to cause an irregular swirl. Accordingly, as shown in the drawing, only a natural swirl is generated around the suction port 6, and no change is caused in performance of the pump even if its head of liquid is decreased from the conventional position P to a position P'. Accordingly, the level of liquid can be set lower than in the past, thus care can be reduced for control, inspection, etc. of quantity of the liquid in a tank.
