Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the charging and discharging cycle performance by mingling lead sulfate containing graphite or carbon black with lead powder to form paste. CONSTITUTION:Water or dilute sulfate is added to lead powder and kneaded to form paste. This paste is filled into a lattice to produce a lead electrode not treated with chemical conversion. Lead sulfate powder containing graphite or carbon black is mingled with lead powder in forming the paste. This lead sulfate being mingled is produced by. e.g., thoroughly mixing lead powder and acetylene black together, putting the mixture into dilute sulfate under cooling and stirring to generate lead sulfate, and leaving it tranquil for 24 hours to have acetylene black embraced in particles of lead sulfate.
