Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A nozzle section of an ink jet head 1 is composed of a piezo- electric element 15. When a voltage is applied on electrodes 16 and 17 of the piezo-electric element 15, a slide diviation occurs in the thickness thereby enabling the control of the real diameter of a nozzle hole 2. In other words, when the hygroscopic property or the seeping property is high, a nozzle diameter controlling power source 13a relatively high in the source voltage, while it is relatively low, the nozzle diameter controlling power source 13b relatively low in the source voltage is selected. In this manner, the real nozzle diameter is adjusted properly. In the case of a deflection type, charge compensation voltage generation circuits 21a and 21b also are switched over to compensate for possible deflection strain.
