PURPOSE:To obtain a driving citcuit of an on-demand type ink jet head which is capable of applying the voltage in the same direction as polarization voltage, to a piezoelectric element being an electric-to-mechanical converting means. CONSTITUTION:Before the time t1, all TRs are off, a piezoelectric element 2 is charged with voltage VH, and the head is in a holding state. At the time of t1, TR 7 becomes on and charge of the piezoelectric element 2 is discharged. At the time of t2, the TR 7 becomes off, TR 5 becomes on, and TR 6 is interlocked and becomes on, too. As a result, the piezoelectric element 2 is charged suddenly. In this case, capacity of a pressure room is decreased suddenly and an ink drop is jetted from the nozzle. On the other hand, the TR 5 becomes an off state at the time of t3 after the time T2 of several times of a time constant decided by R4XC has passed, and the TR 6 also becomes off in succession and becomes a holding state.
