Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the temperature of hot water tapped from a bypass mixing type water heater to be controlled arbitrarily by a method wherein an input to a heater for heating a thermally expandable body of a heat-responsing valve is controlled by the temperature of the hot water which has passed through a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A flow control valve 10 is provided in a bypass pipe 3 branched from a feed water main pipe and bypassing the heat exchanger. The valve 10 is fixed to the thermally expandable body 8 by a valve shaft 9. The heater 11 for heating the expandable body 8 is provided in a chamber 6 in which the body 8 is contained, the temperature of the hot water at an outlet part of the heat exchanger is detedted and the input to the heater is controlled in accordance with a signal of the detected water temperature.
