Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the continuation of a work without stopping a motor by discriminating the abnormal temperature of the motor in accordance with a temperature detection signal and automatically altering a speed command signal to a signal commanding lower rotating speed. CONSTITUTION:The rotating speed of a motor 2 for a sewing machine is varied in accordance with the speed command signal SG3 from a variable resistor 9 in an operating pedal 8. A temperature detector 6 is provided in a housing for the motor 2 to input the signal of the detector into a discriminator 7, the output of the discriminator 7 is applied to an altering circuit 10 to alter the speed command signal SG3 to a command signal SG3a corresponding to a speed lower than the prescribed rotating speed, thereby driving the motor 2. Accordingly, when the motor 2 is continuously operated at the maximum speed to be overheated, the command signal is altered to automatically lower the speed. Accordingly, the working efficiency can be improved without stopping the motor 2.
