Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of engine performance by regulating the air-fuel ratio in accordance with the energy of a plasma ignition in such a manner that the air-fuel ratio is increased in the plasma ignition region to enhance the fuel consumption characteristics and is set at an ordinary value in the other region. CONSTITUTION:A function generator 17 is fed with an engine revolution speed signal S1 and generates a target voltage S3 corresponding to the regulation speed. The target voltage S3, which corresponds to th energy of plasma ignition, is kept constant for revolution speeds of up to a certain value and is gradually lowered when the revolution speed exceeds the value. The target voltage S3 and a terminal voltage S4 of a capacitor 10 are compared with each other by a comparator 18. When S3<=S4, the comparator 18 generates a breaking signal S5 to turn OFF a switching circuit 19. A calculating circuit 21 calculates a fuel injection amount from the revolution speed signal S1, an intake air amount signal S2 and an optimum air-fuel ratio signal S6, and generates an output signal S7 by which a fuel injection valve 22 is actuated to supply a fuel to the engine. Usually, the circut 21 performs calculations in accordance with the formula, while varying the value of a constant K in response to the signal S6, to control the air-fuel ratio.
