Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the engine torgue at low speed by controlling by the speed of the engine a switching valve having a means to connect the high speed flow portion at the discharge side of a compressor to atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: Multiple number of opening 9 are formed around a suction port 7 of a compressor housing 3 and on the high speed flow portion of the discharge side 8, and a partition 10 which constitutes a switching valve having multiple number of opening 12 is held rotatably against said openings 9. A driving cylinder 15 is connected to the partition 10 via a rod 13, and its pressure chamber 16 is selectably connected to a compressed air supply 17 and atmosphere via a 3-way valve 18 operated by a centrifugal clutch 23. When the rotation of the centrifugal clutch 23 exceeds the predetermined speed during the low speed running of an engine, the pressure chamber 16 is connected to atmosphere by the 3-way valve to rorate the partition 10 matching the openings 9 and 12 thereby inducing atmosphere through the opening 9 and 12 by the high speed flow at the discharge side 8 of the compressor housing.
