Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an always uniform plating layer on one side alone in spite of a large change in strip width by suitably selecting the shapes and installation positions of nozzles at the time of subjecting the bottom surface of a moving strip to one side plating by injecting molten Zn from the nozzles. CONSTITUTION:An injection nozzle header 21 of a molten Zn plating bath is disposed in the lower part of a strip 4, and a center slit nozzle 19a rectangular to the advance direction of the strip 4 is provided in the central part. Edge slit nozzles 19b are provided on both sides thereof. The edge slit nozzles 19b are inclined of their discharge ports at 45 deg. to the advance direction of the strip 4, and are inclined at 20-70 deg. with respect to the base line intersecting orthogonally with the strip edge direction and 30-60 deg. with respect to the perpendicular. In spite of a change in the width of the strip 4 from W1 to W2, the molten Zn bath is injected over the entire area of the bottom surface of the strip 4 by both nozzles 19a, 19b, and the uniform one side plating is accomplished.
