Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily form a groove of a high depth accuracy on a plastic sheet or tube without generating chips by a method in which part of the plastic sheet or tube is softened by a vibrational friction produced by a supersonic vibrator and then a groove is formed. CONSTITUTION:A plastic sheet 11 drawn out of a sender 18 is directed into between a groove type free roller 13 and a supersonic vibrator 15 through a set of upper and lower drive rolls 12. And, a high frequency of 20-30KHz and 150-300W outputs is generated from a supersonic vibrator 15 so as to strongly strike a sheet 11 against a grooving projection 14 circumferentially formed on the roller 13 by means of the fine vibration, whereupon the sheet 11 is softened by frictional heat and molded to the shape of the projection 4. And, the molding is cooled by a cooler 16 and then wound around a winder 16 through a set of upper and lower takeover rolls 17.
