Abstract
PURPOSE: To contrive a total energy conservation by a method wherein excess air discharged from a raw-water tank or an aeration tank is used as diffusing air supplied at a lower part of a packing material in a contact oxidation tank, and a pH meter and a flow velocity meter are provided in the contact oxidation tank.
CONSTITUTION: The excess air discharged from either one or both of the raw- water tank 1 and the aeration tank 20 is fed through a pipe 50 into a diffusing part 51 provided below the packing material 41, forming air bubbles to supply oxygen to waste water 43 in the tank. As a result, the pH value, dissolved oxygen (DO) value and the like of the waste water 43 are varied, which variations are detected by the pH meter 52, a DO meter 53 and the flow velocity meter. Each of the meters feeds a detection signal to a control circuit 55, which sends a command to a pump 45 to change the revolution speed of a motor for the pump 45, thereby reducing the amount of power consumed by the pump 45.
