Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent excessive tensile force from being applied to a magnetic tape by positioning an idler between reel turntables forcibly and by rolling the idler in contact with the reel turntables when the reel turntables are driven. CONSTITUTION:Around the motor shaft 93 of a reel motor 92 fitted on the reverse surface side of a base plate, an idler arm 94 is fitted rotatably and loosely, and a driving gear 95 is fixed on the reel motor shaft 93 to turn with the reel motor shaft 93 in one body, and meshes with the tooth part 96 formed around an idler 90. The idler 90 is fitted around an idler support shaft 91, implanted in the idler arm 94, rotatably and loosely, and is pressed against the idler arm 94 by a compression spring 97 with felt 98 in between, thus obtaining prescribed slip torque of rotation.
