Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent slackening of a power transmission flexible member and transmit the drive correctly by mounting a device for preventing rotation opposite to the direction of movement urged by a spring member on an arm member freely pivoting upon a fixed supporting point. CONSTITUTION:In a device for driving a scanning portion of a copier or the like, a suspending plate 7 is adapted to pivot on a hook point 5' of a sub-arm 4 of an arm member 3 urged clockwise by a tension spring 5. A disc 6 secured to the body of the copier is brought into contact with the suspending plate 7 at a point 8 slipping off a line connecting between the center 3' of rotation of the arm member 3 and the hook point 5' a little counter-clockwise. When tension of a wire rope 1 becomes smaller, the spring 5 is adapted to rotate the member 3 clockwise to make tension of the rope 1 fixed. If a large tension is applied to the rope 1 when a driven portion starts moving, the suspending plate 7 is adapted to check clockwise rotation of the member 3 so as to transmit the speed and drive of the rope to the driven unit as it is.
