Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a composite blending agent having excellent thermal conductivity and useful as a raw material for the production of the insulating base plate of electronic parts, consisting of α-alumina powder having a specified shape factor and boron nitride.
CONSTITUTION: (a) 25W90wt%, pref. 40W90wt% of α-alumina powder having a shape factor of 1W1.4 calculated from the average value of the ratio of longer diameter of each particle, to shorter diameter (which intersects the longer diameter at right angles) as defined by microscopic magnification method (JISR6002), is blended with (b) a powder (pref. having a particle diameter of 30W100μ) of boron nitride to obtain titled blending agent. The thermal conductivity and the electrical insulating properties of molded articles can be improved by blending the blending agent in an amt. of 50W80vol% with high-molecular cpd. such as silicone rubber, chlorinated polyethylene, or fluororubber.
