Abstract
PURPOSE: A pigment for coating compound forming a coated surface having improved weather resistance and color retention and providing a coating film having improved corrosion resistance, comprising an aggregate consisting of finely divided particles of rock and an inorganic or metal powder pigment attached to the surface of the particles as a pigment.
CONSTITUTION: Finely divided particles of rock havng particle diameters about not larger than 74μ and an inorganic or metal powder pigment are fed to a blender made of an electrically nonconductive matter as a material, are blended by applying force at normal temperature with stirring in such a way that they are pressed, and water, or a water-soluble organic solvent, or their mixed liquid is added to the blend to continue the blending under pressure. An inorganic or metal powder pigment is attached to the surface of the finely divided particles of rock in a film state to give a pigment. This pigment is blended with a weakly acidic aqueous solution of phosphoric acid and a weakly acidic vinyl acetate aqueous emulsion comprising PVA as a protective colloid to give a waterproofing coating compound of aqueous emulsion.
