Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure a safe and accurate measurement of the water level and at the same time eliminate the need for installation of the lower tap of a pressure container, by providing the reference level detector at the upper part of the pressure container of a boiling water reactor, connecting the level detector to the water level transmitter and then connecting the lower line connected to the drain tube of the pressure container to the water level transmitter.
CONSTITUTION: The reference water level detector 11 is connected via the lead tube 12 to the upper tap 10 provided at the upper part of the pressure container 2 of a boiling water reactor installed within the storing container 1. The water level transmitter 13 is connected to the detector 11 via the upper detection line 14. On the other hand, the lower tap 18 is provided to the drain tube 17 provided at the lower part 2a of the container 2 to be connected to the transmitter 13 via the lower detection line 19. The pressure difference is detected by the detector 13 between the reference water column P1 detected by the detector 11 and the variable water column P2 which fluctuates by the water level 9a of the container 2. Then the pressure difference is displayed to the water level meter 15. As a result, a safe and accurate detection is possible for the water level, thus eliminating the need for installation of the lower tap to the container 2.
