Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve heat balance of an armature coil by providing the armature coil inside a slot larger in sectional area than that outside the slot. CONSTITUTION:An arrangement in such that an armature coil 8 inserted in a slot 7 provided on an armature core 6 is formed smaller in conductor sectional area than an armature coil 9 outside the slot 7. Then, a wedge 11 is driven into a groove 12 after an armature coil 10 consisting of the armature coils 8 and 9 is inserted in the slot 7, which is insulated through vacuum impregnation. In case, for example, the armature coil 10 is connected to a commutator to operate as a DC machine, the armature coil 8 in the slot is allowed to generate heat high enough to cover the temperature in the slot which is lower than that outside the slot of the armature coil 10, thus improving a heat balance of the armature coil 10.
