Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently coat a primer at a uniform film thickness by a method wherein an aqueous-type primer is used as a primer, the plant is nonexplosion-proof and is incorporated in a forming process or a production process.
CONSTITUTION: In a water-cooling zone A, two pairs of rolls 3 for nipping a plate- shaped body 2 from upper and lower sides and stopping water are placed along the travelling line of the plate-shaped body 2, with the axese of the rolls 3 being supported by a casing 1 and showers 4 being placed on the upper and lower sides of the body 2 between the roll pairs. In a primer-coating zone B are provided a pair of squeezing rolls 7 for coating a primer liquid from a nozzle 10 onto the upper surface of the body 2 and a spray 11 for directly spraying a primer liquid to the lower surface of the body 2. In a drying zone C, infrared heaters 21 are provided in a casing 20 and air is jetted by a blower 22. The plate-shaped body 2 is cooled and wetted with water in the zone A, is provided thereon with a uniform primer layer in the zone B and then is fed into the zone C so as to be dried.
