Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate IC implementation by allowing a PLL circuit to operate normally to maintain a lock state, by switching a selection switch by making a lock detector generate a high output while holding the output of FF at a low level when an input signal is in phase with the output signal of a voltage control oscillator. CONSTITUTION:Output A of loop filter 4 reaches reference voltage Vm at time t2 and output C of comparator 9 rises in level, inverting FF7 . Consequently, switches 5 and 6 are switched on and off respectively and output A rises. Then, output C of comparator 9 returns from the high level to the low level instantaneously, but FF7 is not influenced. At time t3, if input signal IN is in phase with output signal OUT of voltage control oscillator VCO, output B of lock detector 11 rises in level. Consequently, outputs E and F of FF7 are both held at the low level and switches 5 and 6 are turned off, so that PLL circuit 10 will be in normal operation to maintain the lock state, eliminating the need for a capacitor.
