Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an expanded grid with a long life which is highly resisting to corrosion by subjecting a cast material made of a lead-calcium alloy added with given proportions of calcium, tin and aluminum to a plastic processing to obtain a sheet, and serving this sheet as the grid. CONSTITUTION:A cast material made of a lead-calcium alloy which is added with 0.02-0.15% of calcium, 0.1-1.5% of tin and 0.001-0.05% of aluminum, is subbjected to a plastic processing such as extruding or rolling to obtain a sheet. The thus obtained sheet undergoes an expand processing to make a grid for a lead acid battery.
