Abstract

PURPOSE: An antitumorigenic agent that contains a napthalenesulfonamide derivative as an effective component, thus showing low toxicity and high antitumorigenic activity and being used orally or parenterally.
CONSTITUTION: An antitumorigenic agent that contains a naphthalenesulfoneamide derivative of formula I [X is H, halogen; So2NHR connects to the 1 or 2 position in the naphthalene ring; R is H, amino, -(CH2)mNH2, formula II; m is 1W10; n is 4W6] such as N-(5-aminobutyl)-5-chloro-1-naphthalenesulfonamide (A-5) as an effective component. The dose is usually 10W100mg a day. The compound of formula I is obtained by reaction of a naphthalenesulfonic acid derivative of formula III (X1 is halogen) with an amine of R-NH2 or its acylated product and, when necessary, subsequent deacylation of the amino-protecting group.
