Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the clearness of image by providing an auxiliary electrode coupled with a rectangular bottom face having a conductive barrier of same potential with that of the electrode in axial direction from the inner face of the electrode where the wall ends has a central beam passing hole each other. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary electrode 10 having a barrier 11 in axial direction from the inner face of an electrode where the remote wall ends are coupled each other through a perpendicular bottom face 12 and having a hole 13 for passing the central beam in said bottom face is additionally provided between circular holes a3 of third grid 5 at the side of main lens. The length and the width of said barrier 11 are adjusted to provide desired beam shape at both ends, and when the shape of electrodes 10 are same the beam shape is elongated if it is provided at the low voltage side while it varies laterally if it is provided at high voltage side. Consequently the clearness of the image can be improved.
