Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a uniform sensible image without change based on the lapse of time, by applying an AC bias voltage to the developing electrode and by changing the value of this AC bias voltage according to change of the developer based on the lapse of time.
CONSTITUTION: A drum form is formed with electrostatic latent image holder 1 and back electrode 2. Sleeve 3 is arranged oppositely to this holder 2. An AC voltage is applied from AC voltage power source between sleeve 3 and electrode 2. This AC voltage can change the bias value through variable circuit 8 connected to power source 5 according to degradation of developer 4. By changing the AC bias value in this manner, change of the sensible image density dependent upon change of developer 4 based on the lapse of time can be restrained to a minimum.
