Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease installing cost and also to simplify control procedure by securing a flow control even in case there is a variation observed in input shaft power- flow characteristic in a method to control the flow by measuring the input shaft power of a pump.
CONSTITUTION: A discharge pipe 3 of a pump 1 driven by a motor 2 is connected to a demand end through a flow controlling discharge valve 4. Then, an input shaft power of the pump 1 is measured on a shaft power detector 6, the detection signal is outputted to a memory arithmetic unit 7 to obtain the quantity of flow, which is compared with a reference flow on a comparator 9, and where there is a difference between the two, an opening of the discharge valve 4 is changed according to a signal coming from a valve opening control signal generator 11 by way of a valve microopening indicating signal generator 10. According to this constitution, a flow control can be secured even in case there is a variation observed in input shaft power-flow characteristic, thereby decreasing equipment cost and simplifying how to control.
