Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the configuration of a DC motor by comparing in phase a pulse train of reference frequency with a pulse train of frequency proportional to the rotating speed of the motor and controlling the switch of a drive circuit by the detection signal therefrom. CONSTITUTION:An encoder 4 is directly coupled to a motor 5 to obtain a pulse train of frequency proportional to the rotating speed of the motor. The pulse train thus obtained and a pulse train of reference frequency are applied to a phase detector 1. The phase detector 1 compares the phases of both the pulse trains and applies the resulting delay phase detection signal c to a switch 2 for flowing a current in an accelerating direction and the resulting lead phase detection signal d to a switch 3 for flowing a current in a decelerating direction. Thus, the power consumption in the drive circuit including the switches 2, 3 is reduced, and the circuit arrangement can be simplified.
