Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the generation of a predetermined driving force in a predetermined traveling direction of an electric motor vehicle even when the vehicle runs backwardly to the predetermned traveling direction by switching the polarity of the output voltage of a frequency/voltage converter in accordance with the output of a rotating direction detector for an induction motor.
CONSTITUTION: A torque command 1 is converted into a current command 3 and a slip frequency command 32 through function generators 2 and 21 respectively. A pulse oscillator 11 outputs a pulse train having a frequency proportional to the rotating speed of the induction motor 8 to a frequency/voltage converter 13'. A voltage controlled oscillator 23' will produce a three-phase rectangular waveform signal 24 having a frequency proportional to the magnitude of the frequency command 22 responsive to the polarity. A modulator 6 controls a thyristor inverter 7 by mixing the voltage command 5 and the three-phase rectangular waveform signal 24.
