Abstract

PURPOSE: To impart superior antireflection effect over a wide wavelength range to an antireflection film by devising the thicknesses of 5 layers of working films which successively repeat two kinds of refractive indexes, high and low, with respect to an underlying materials having refractive indexes of a wide range.
CONSTITUTION: An antireflection film having working films of 5 layers L1WL5 are provided for an underlying material Lb of refractive indexes nb5=1.65W1.90 at the specific wavelength λ0. In the respective working films L1WL5, the 1st layer L1 is exposed to the atmosphere such as air, and the 5th layer L5 sticks on the underlying material Lb. Between these, the working films L2WL4 are successively laminated. This is then constituted by the working films of two kinds of refractive indexes in which the 1st layer L1, 3rd layer L3 and the 5th layer L5 are used as a low refractive index working film and the 2nd layer L2 and 4th layer L4 as a high refractive index working film, and the respective layers L1WL5 are so formed that their layer thicknesses (t1)W(t5) are 0.25λ0≤t1≤0.35λ0, 0.1λ0≤t2≤0.25λ0, 0.01λ0≤t3≤ 0.15λ0, 0.1≤t4≤0.25λ0, 0.01λ0≤t5≤0.15λ0.
