Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a shortage of moisture in a passenger compartment when the air conditioner with a heater is in a heater mode by opening and closing periodically an upper blow-out door or a door of a heater bypassing passage so as to blow out a cool air intermittently through the upper blow-out door. CONSTITUTION:When the air conditioner is in the heater mode, the door 10, responsive to a signal from a mode detector 19, is at a position shown by a solid line in the drawing. If the moisture in the passenger compartment runs short and a switch 21 is turned off, a cycle timer 20 outputs a signal at a certain interval to a control circuit 18, which in turn outputs to an actuator 17 a signal which opens and closes the door 10 periodically. Thus, an air not heated by the heater 2 is blown out through the upper blow-out passage 14 at a certain interval to increase temporarily the moisture around the passengers' heads. Thus, the moisture shortage under the heater mode air conditioning can be prevented without using a humidifier.
