Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture the cast billet possessing the sectional shape possible to prevent generation of the so called fish tail especially during the hot rolling pass, by pressing the cast billet, which has finished the secondary cooling and is before the cutting machine, from both sides with the pressing head possessing a cavity of specified shape fittable to the side plane of this cast billet. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal in the casting mold 1 is extracted as the cast billet 3 following to the rotation of the extracting rolls 5, 5, and is successively passed through the cooling zone 4 to solidify.
