Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively perform mixing of sodium in a primary heat transfer tube bundle portion to make primary sodium heat capacity per heat transfer tube uniform, by offsetting longitudinally centers of inlet windows and outlet windows of an outer shroud of a tube type heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: The inlet window 12 and the outlet windows 13 are circumferentially arranged and offset longitudinally with respect to each other. Because of this offset, primary high temperature sodium flowed from the inlet windows 12 flows in the tube bundle along flow lines 16 from the inlet windows 12 to the outlet windows 13. Therefore mixing of the primary sodium is effectively carried out to enable heat transfer tube temperatures in the tube bundle to be uniform, and cross flow becomes smooth to minimise pressure loss.
