Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the temperature of steel strips at even temperature by a method in which steel strip groups are placed at an interval wider than the distance between steel strips on each truck and the said interval is situated between the upper and lower partition walls while the steel strip groups are stayed in a truck-division type and walking beam type heating furnace.
CONSTITUTION: When the steel strips 7 are orderly placed on the divided trucks A and B at equal pitch, the steel strip groups S1 and S2 are placed on the trucks in such a way that a space corresponding to one or two pitches equal to the said pitch is formed between the steel strip groups S1 and S2. Then, the steel strip groups S1 and S2 are fed in a repeated feeding and staying manner in the furnace, and the space 8 between the steel strip groups S1 and S2 is situated between the upper partition wall 4 and the lower partition wall 6. Since the steel strips near the border between the steel strip groups do not stay right below and above both the partition walls 4 and 6 when treating different steel strip groups in different temperature conditions in each of the heating chambers 2 partitioned by both the partition walls 4 and 6, the steel strips can be evenly heated without causing deviation in the temperatures of different steel strips.
