Abstract
PURPOSE: To make a shape of glass plate having a uniform rate of curvature and protect an operator against the danger by a method wherein a rotating axis of a grinder head is displaced by a rotatable sleeve and the grinder head for grinding a glass plate is oscilated by a rotary shaft rotatably supported.
CONSTITUTION: Rotating axis 21 fixed to the grinder head 23 is rotatably supported at such a position as being eccentric with respect to a rotating axis of the sleeve 18 itself in the rotary sleeve 18. When the corner of the glass plate 1 to be ground is positioned such that it is placed at a center of rotation O of the rotary sleeve 18, a center of the rotary grinder 26 is placed at a point A and the rotating axis 21 of the grinder head 23 is positioned at the point 21' directed in a lower leftward direction by 45°. Thus, a rotation of the sleeve 18 causes the rotating axis 21 to be moved in sequence of 21'→21"→21'''→21', then a center of the grinder wheel 26 is moved in an arcular path A→B→C→D→A, thereby the glass plate is contacted, ground to make an arcular corner and then removed. Thereby, it is possible to provide a grinding of the glass plate having corners with uniform rate of curvature without causing any danger.
