Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform stable frequency detection with high resolution by detecting an IF digitally and by using a reference frequency signal in a synthesizer circuit as a reference signal for said frequency detection. CONSTITUTION:A frequency-division code outputted from a channel-selection control circuit 12 is supplied to a variable frequency-dividing circuit 7 and the oscillation frequency of a voltage-controlled oscillator 5 is decided by its frequency-division ratio. An IF signal, on the other hand, is inputted to a frequency detector 13 and one frequency-divided signal from a frequency divider 11 is used as a reference signal to detect whether it is at a prescribed frequency or not. The detection result of the detector 13 is inputted to the channel-selection control circuit 12 and used, for example, as a sweep stop signal for automatic tuning. As the detection reference signal of this detector 13, the frequency-divided signal of a frequency synthesizing circuit composed of a variable frequency divider 7, a phase comparator 8, an LPF9, a reference frequency oscillator 10, and the reference frequency divider 11 is used to perform high-resolution and stable tuning detection.
