Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a metal film with superior adhesion and electric conductivity on the surface of an inorg. oxide substrate by forming an Ni- or Co-base electroless plated film with superior adhesion on the surface and electroless plating the plated film with Ni or Co with superior electric conductivity.
CONSTITUTION: An electroless plated film of Ni-Zn-P, Co-Zn-P or Ni-Co-Zn-P with superior adhesion is formed on the surface of a greatly uneven ceramic substrate of aumina, silica or the like or a smooth inorg. oxide substrate of glass or the like. An electroless plating bath used at this time contains Ni salt and/or Co salt, Zn salt in 0.075W1.5mol ratio to the Ni salt and/or Co salt, a complexing agent and sodium hypophosphite as a metal ion reducing agent. The plated film is then plated with Ni or Co by an electroless plating method to form a plated film of Ni-P, Co-P or the like with superior electric conductivity. Thus, a metal film with superior adhesion and electric conductivity is formed by electroless plating.
