Abstract

PURPOSE:To scratch the lubricating oil securely and to reduce the consumptive quantity of the lubricating oil by a method wherein there is provided a groove connecting the top face of a piston with a top ring groove. CONSTITUTION:On the side of the piston is provided a groove 2 and one end of the groove is connected with the top face 6 of the piston while the other is connected with a top ring 3. In a comprssion and an explosion process, high pressure gas runs into the top ring groove 3 through the groove 2, compresses the back side of the top ring 5 and attaches the top ring 5 firmly to a cylinder wall surface 8. Thus, the lubricating oil can be scratched off firmly which comes to rise from a piston skirt part along the cylinder wall surface 8.
