Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition having excellent flame-retardancy and mechanical characteristics and free from plate-out in molding and blooming of the molded article, by dispersing melamine cyanurate particles having specific particle diameter range in a polyamide.
CONSTITUTION: 98W75wt% of a polyamide is compounded with 2W25wt% pref. 3W15wt% of melamine cyanurate powder wherein almost 100% of the particles are ≤35μ in diameter and ≥80% of the particles are ≤10μ in diameter. When almost 100% of the melamine cyanurate particles are ≤25μ in diameter and ≥80% are ≤7μ in diameter, the effect of the additive is especially high.
EFFECT: The composition is translucent and can be dyed clearly with a small amount of pigment. It can be formed to a uniform flame-retardant fiber, continuously, by melt spinning etc.
