PURPOSE:To effectively control the coolant, and to improve the product yield, by splashing the roll with the mixture of roll coolants for use of cooling and heating respectively. CONSTITUTION:The fluid supplied from the pump 11 is cooled by the cooler 5 installed in the cooling fluid supply piping 4, and becomes the cooling fluid. On the other side, the fluid from the pump 11 is heated by the heater 8 installed in the heating fluid supply piping 7, and becomes the heating fluid. According to the command signal sent from the control panel 12, the cooling fluid flow rate regulating valve 6 and the heating fluid flow rate regulating valve 9 are respectively controlled, and the desired amount of cooling fluid and heating fluid are supplied to respective mixers 31-34 and are mixed; hereby, the fluid of desired temperature is prepared. Thus prepared mixed fluid is splashed from respective nozzles 21-24 against the upper work roll 1, and the coolant supply for the upper work roll 1 is effectively controlled.
