Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the compression efficiency by providing on the cylinder head only a suction valve and a suction port and providing an exhaust valve and an exhaust port on the piston head to reduce the volume of the exhaust port and the quantity of the re-expanding gas.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust port 23 is formed on the piston head 16. An exhaust leaf valve 24 is fitted inside of the piston head 16, which allows the reduction of the thickness of the piston head 16 around the exhaust port 23 reducing the volume of the exhaust port 23 so that the quantity of re-expansing gas is reduced and the compression efficiency is improved. The provision of only the suction port 20 and the suction valve 21 on the cylinder head 18 allows simple construction of the cylinder head 18 and considerably free design of the suction port 20 thus so that suction resistance and the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
