Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve rigidity and accordingly increase safety of an underground structure by connecting the underground structure of a building in a unitary body with continuous underground walls by means of shear keys fixed to widened portions at the middle depth of the said walls.
CONSTITUTION: While digging a continuous trench 1, reguired trench width is partly widened at planned positions 3, 4 for constructing the structure. Reinforcement assemblies 5 fitted with shear keys 6 are then positioned inside the trench 1 and concreted thereafter. Next, the structure 8 is constructed after digging the ground and is connected with the concreted wall through the aid of the protruded sear keys 6.
